Sell your home

Selling this fall? Sell the house, not the season.

Fall can be an excellent time to sell in Montréal, the surrounding areas and across Quebec. With the right price, smart staging and strong curb appeal, your property can stand out even as the days get shorter.

My rule for sellers

  • Clean.
  • Bright.
  • Open.
  • Neutral.
  • Maintained.

7 fall home-selling tips

The seven rules I give sellers.

Practical ways to attract buyers, maximize your home's appeal and keep the focus where it belongs: on the property.

  1. Leaves? Deal with them.

A few leaves look seasonal. A yard full of them looks neglected. Clean sells.

  2. Your landscaping isn't retired yet.

Dead flowers, overgrown shrubs and messy gardens kill curb appeal. Clean it up and make the entrance pop.

  3. Kill the cobwebs.

Buyers don't want a Halloween house. Wash it. Sweep it. Power wash it.

  4. Forget the pumpkin spice.

If buyers smell your house before they see it, that's a problem. Fresh air beats fake fragrance, every time.

  5. Turn on the lights.

Shorter days mean darker rooms, and dark rooms feel smaller. Open the blinds, clean the windows, turn on every light.

  6. Cozy is overrated.

Buyers aren't buying your blankets. They're buying space, light and function. Give them room to imagine living there.

  7. Don't let the decor steal the show.

Pumpkins are cute. Your kitchen is worth more. Make the house memorable, not the decorations.

That's it

You're not selling fall. You're selling the opportunity to own the home.
