Credit score consulting · Credit to Keys

Build stronger credit. Become mortgage-ready. Own with confidence.

A low credit score shouldn't be the end of your homeownership story. I help you understand your credit, correct genuine reporting errors, rebuild after setbacks and create a realistic path to a home or investment property.

This is not magic

  • A clear plan
  • Accountability
  • Smart financial habits that lenders recognize

Who it's for

Wherever your credit is today.

  • First-time buyers with thin or damaged credit
  • People carrying high credit-card balances
  • Anyone with missed payments, collections or old accounts reporting incorrectly
  • Self-employed people who need to improve both credit and mortgage readiness
  • People rebuilding after a consumer proposal or bankruptcy
  • Future homeowners who want to prepare 6, 12 or 24 months before applying

What you receive

Four parts, one roadmap to the keys.

01Credit score & report review

A one-on-one look at your credit, debts, payment history and homeownership goal. You leave knowing what's helping your score, what may be hurting it, which debts need attention first, whether the real issue is credit, income, down payment or debt ratios, and what must happen before you speak seriously with a mortgage professional.

02Credit report accuracy review

We identify inaccurate, incomplete, duplicated, outdated or potentially fraudulent information. In Canada, that means Equifax Canada and TransUnion Canada; you have the right to challenge information you believe is wrong, and verified errors must be corrected at no charge. We build your dispute checklist, gather documents, draft organized disputes, contact the creditor when that's faster, and track follow-ups.

0390-day score-building plan

A personalized plan focused on what you control: lowering revolving utilization, automating minimum payments, a debt-paydown order, avoiding unnecessary hard inquiries, keeping older accounts open when it makes sense, building an emergency fund, and choosing a suitable credit-building product where appropriate.

04Mortgage-readiness roadmap

Your credit plan becomes an ownership strategy: a target score range, a target debt-service position, down-payment savings goals, income documentation (especially for the self-employed), a timeline for pre-qualification, a realistic price range based on today's finances, and connections to licensed professionals when needed.

Important: we never promise to remove accurate negative information. If it's true and properly reported, the focus becomes rebuilding, not hiding from it. The goal isn't simply a bigger number. It's a stronger financial profile that can support a mortgage approval.

Rebuilding after bankruptcy

Bankruptcy doesn't mean you can never own again.

It means you need a disciplined plan, patience, stable habits and the right professional guidance. In Canada, a first bankruptcy generally stays on your report six or seven years after discharge, depending on the bureau and province. In Quebec, TransUnion generally keeps it seven years; Equifax generally removes it after six. A second bankruptcy can remain for 14 years.

In the U.S., the first goal is stability: on-time payments, controlled utilization, clean reporting, documented income and savings. Then we match you with a properly licensed mortgage professional and a loan program that fits your real situation.

My role after discharge

  • A post-discharge financial reset plan
  • Clean payment habits from day one
  • Knowing when to start rebuilding credit
  • Monitoring reports for wrong dates, balances, duplicates or accounts not marked as included
  • An emergency reserve, less high-cost borrowing
  • A future mortgage-readiness file
  • Referral to a Licensed Insolvency Trustee for debt-relief decisions

  • For a mortgage application or a specific mortgage product, clients are referred to a properly licensed mortgage professional.
  • Clients must never create a new identity, misstate income, stop paying legitimate debt, or dispute information known to be accurate.

Frequently asked questions

Can you remove negative items from my credit report?

Only inaccurate ones. Errors can be disputed and must be corrected when verified. Accurate negative information cannot be removed; the focus becomes rebuilding.

How long does a bankruptcy stay on a credit report in Québec?

For a first bankruptcy, TransUnion generally keeps it seven years after discharge and Equifax generally six. A second bankruptcy can remain for 14 years.

Can I buy a home after a bankruptcy or consumer proposal?

Yes, with a disciplined plan: on-time payments, low credit utilization, accurate reports, documented income and savings. Timelines depend on your situation and the lender.

Is Credit to Keys available in the United States?

Yes. U.S. clients get a review of Equifax, Experian and TransUnion reports and a plan to prepare for a licensed U.S. mortgage lender or broker.
